Character dining is one of our favorite ways to explore Disney resorts on a rest day on your vacation. At select Disney resorts, you can eat a great meal and meet some of your favorite Disney characters without having to wait in long lines or step foot into a Disney park.

The current character dining options at Walt Disney World are:
*Chef Mickey at the Contemporary (breakfast & dinner)
*Cape May Cafe at Beach Club (breakfast)
*Ohana at the Polynesian (breakfast)
*Story Book Dining at Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge (dinner)
And, the newest addition to the lineup is 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. Technically, this isn’t a new dining experience. Prior to March 2020, this restaurant used to host characters like Alice, Mad Hatter, and Mary Poppins for breakfast. For dinner, you could find Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, and her evil stepsisters.

But, when 1900 Park Fare reopened in 2023, the infamous strawberry soup returned, but it was given new characters and a new theme: Wishes. This theme and the characters are the same for both breakfast and dinner. So of course, we will share ideas on what to wear based on the new characters you can meet at this dining experience.
These four outfits were based on a variety of styles, but if you want something a little more customized to your style preference and sizing, you can check out our outfit planning service. When you book a look with us, we are able to utilize small shops and more to give you the most unique and personalized options!
Mirabel
We were pretty excited to see Mirabel make her debut at a character dining experience. The only other place to meet her is inside Magic Kingdom, and the wait is usually long. She is such a wonderful character, and my kiddos love being able to have an interaction with her!

This outfit was inspired by the bright, bold colors found within the Encanto movie. We like to give options when planning these outfits, so you can choose which accessories fit your style best. You’ll also see butterflies as an accent to this look. I loved the necklace because it reminded me of Mirabel’s glasses. Wedges can be a little bit of a pain to pack, so swapping these out for sandals would also work. We just liked the height of these wedges paired with a maxi dress. The Grand Floridian is the perfect place to dress a bit more fancy if you can swing it!
Genie
Perhaps the most controversial character here at 1900 Park Fare is Aladdin. If you wish to meet Aladdin during your meal here, you might want to put in a good word with the Genie. According to Becky Gandillon over at Touring Plans, Aladdin is the most inconsistent character at this dining experience. He’s often replaced with Snow White. If you need some outfit ideas for her, you can check out our other blog on Disney princess outfit ideas here.

Since Genie is the ultimate wish granter, we wanted to make this outfit all about him. One of my favorite things about resort character dining is that you can really get creative with your looks and not have to worry about sweating to death in the parks or being uncomfortable for the rest of the day. This outfit allows you to dress the part in a chic way that’s made for the Grand Floridian. The magic carpet crossbody is no longer available, but we hope you like the other options we’ve linked for you!
Tiana
While you can meet Tiana at a few places around Walt Disney World, you can only meet her in her Adventure Bayou outfit at 1900 Park Fare. With the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure over in Magic Kingdom, Tiana was given a new story and a new outfit.

We styled this look around a loose DisneyBound outfit based on her new threads. We chose a romper with shorts, but a button romper with pants would also be adorable. The silk scarf is totally optional, but we love the one she wears at 1900 Park Fare, as it adds a little pop of color to her ensemble. If mini backpacks aren’t your bag preference, just swap it out with a yellow fanny pack or crossbody!
Fairy Godmother
One character that did make it through the re-theme is Cinderella. You can still chat, take photos, and make a wish with the glass slipper princess in her full ball gown. Cinderella is one of my favorite princesses, but we wanted to create a look that was centered around the actual wish maker of the story, the Fairy Godmother.

I really love the brighter blues and pinks of the Fairy Godmother’s attire, and we wanted to tie in the sparkles and stars of her wand. Believe it or not, there isn’t a lot of Fairy Godmother merchandise. There was an adorable Loungefly released a couple of years ago, but it’s pretty pricey on resale sites. So, we tried to get creative with these accessories.
We hope that these outfits for 1900 Park Fare have inspired you for your dining experience! Make sure to shop your closet first to see what you can create for your morning or evening.
And remember, theme park fashion doesn’t have to be complicated, it just has to make you smile!
