On May 22, 2025, Universal Orlando will open the gates to its newest theme park, Epic Universe. For over 6 years, the team at Universal Studios has been dreaming, creating, and building this one-of-a-kind experience that’s filled with brand new worlds to explore. We have no doubt that this brand new amusement park will live up to its name.

Epic Universe joins the forces of Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios, and Volcano Bay. But, this theme park has been built to stand out and bring something completely new to the Orlando theme park game. Epic Universe will have five new heavily themed and interactive worlds and two new hotels to enjoy.
You’ll begin your journey in Celestial Park, a stunning galaxy-themed area that leads to the 4 portals of the other worlds; Super Nintendo World™, the Ministry of Magic™, Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe. Even though this park hasn’t opened to the public yet, Lauren and I have created 5 outfits based on the new areas throughout Epic Universe utilizing their IP’s and photos and information that’s been released by Universal.

If you have a trip planned for Epic Universe this summer, we would love to plan outfits for your Epic adventures and style you and your family! You can check out our Custom Services below. If you just need some quick outfit ideas, we’ve also got you covered. We’ve put together 5 outfits with a variety of styles and comfort.
Celestial Park

I am not going to lie, when Epic Universe was first announced, this was part of the park that seemed to be lacking. There wasn’t anything that I was really looking forward to based on initial concepts. But, boy, do I take it all back. As more information has been released, the heart and soul of Epic Universe looks absolutely stunning. With heavenly galactic details and the new Stardust Racers roller coaster, this is exactly what you want to see as you start your day at Epic Universe.

The outfit we created for Celestial Park is themed around the stars and its beautiful color palette of blues, golds, and iridescent details. We wanted something a little bit trendy, a little bit futurist, and a little bit fun. We choose to go with more holographic tones instead of golds, but golds would work really well here. You can get as playful as you want with these accessories, but the makeup and hair can be so fun with the iridescent hair clips and body glitter! Also, please keep in mind that the star crossbody is tiny. My daughter owns this purse, and it’s not for those of us who are the keeper of all the “stuff”. It will fit your phone and maybe some lipstick, but not much else. But hey, it will look super cute in photos. 😉
Super Nintendo World™

One of the worlds I am MOST excited about is Super Nintendo World. While we already have one in Universal Studios Hollywood, that location is only a quarter of the size of what will be at Epic Universe. This Super Nintendo World in Orlando will be a carbon copy of the location in Universal Japan, which includes the expansion of Donkey Kong Land. Like most nineties kids, I grew up playing the Mario Bros. franchise on my Nintendo and grew to love Donkey, Diddy, Cranky, and Funky Kong through my N64. To see these virtual realities brought to life is a dream come true for this gaming girl. In fact, we styled multiple outfits for this land based on the female characters within the Super Mario series over on this blog if you want to check that out here.

When I saw this athletic dress, it immediately made me think of Princess Peach. So naturally, I wanted to build an entire outfit around it. Athletic dresses are a great way to feel flirty and girly without giving up comfort. As we always say, summers in Orlando are brutal, so this Princess Peach outfit is playing into her sporty Mario Tennis side so you can stay cute without melting in the Florida sun.
Isle of Berk

Between the two of us, Lauren is definitely the movie buff. She loves all genres of movies, and as a matter of fact, keeps a running list of films that I haven’t seen to make sure I watch them with her. 😅 On that list, was How to Train Your Dragon. Even though it was my daughter who finally made me see it, I ended up loving this movie when I watched it for the first time in January of 2025. So naturally, I am president of the Toothless fan club, and the thought of meeting Toothless at Epic Universe makes me want to weep dragon tears of joy.

This outfit is for all my friends whose theme park uniform is a t-shirt and shorts. 😎 Being comfortable at a theme park is key when you are walking around all day in humidity that feels like you just got out of the shower. Florida summers are just swell. BUT, you can still play into themes and characters with your outfit! While this Toothless t-shirt is the center of attention, we pulled in multiple dragon and viking type of accessories, like the leather embossed fanny pack. However, the strap looks a little long, so you might want to explore other options for your strap.
Dark Universe

Am I allowed to be equally excited and terrified about a world? Because on one hand, Dark Universe is right up my alley with witchy wooden vibes and classic characters of terror. But, on the other hand, there is talk of jump scares in queues, and Halloween Horror Nights is my actual nightmare, so I am unsure of how to process my feelings about this world in Epic Universe. I am MOSTLY excited as the overall aesthetic speaks to my love of vintage movies and overall goal to learn an encantation or two. It’s looking like Curse of the Werewolf is going to be a hard pass for me, as motherhood has ruined any spinning ride for me in the foreseeable future. But, Frankenstein's Manor looks and sounds very tempting.

I of course wanted to create an outfit based around one of the classic characters you will encounter during your time in Dark Universe. While Bride of Frankenstein and the Invisible Man (like, how are they going to pull that off?) are high on my list, I am hoping Dracula will be greeting guests at Epic Universe, as he often makes an appearance at Universal Studios. I love this outfit because for someone who loves Halloween, a lot of these pieces can be re-worn during spooky season. The black dress with the lace collar is perfect for emulating Dracula’s standard black cape with this white ruffle shirt. Pair this with some red lipstick, and you’re all set to explore Dark Universe in immortal style.
Ministry of Magic™

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ is one of the most impressive worlds found at Universal Orlando. For anyone who fell in love with the book series as a child, you must see how the Universal team brought this fictional fantasy world to life. It’s absolutely remarkable to walk through Hogsmeade or take a ride on the Hogwarts Express. And now, Epic Universe is continuing to make dreams come true for future wizards and witches by adding the Ministry of Magic to the Wizard World Family.

It appears this portal will mostly play into the 1920’s theme of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them™ as you explore the streets of Paris, just like Newt Scamander™. We styled this outfit with Newt in mind, but wanted to give it some feminine elements for your day in Paris. This exact outfit for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ would be best for cooler fall days. Newt Scamander’s™ style is very layered, but you could definitely do a lighter skirt with a sleeveless button-up if you’re wanting to debut this look in the summer!
And speaking of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter™, now seems like the perfect time to give a shoutout to a local non-profit, the Metro Trans Umbrella Group. If you’d like to donate to this incredible organization that “offers a wide range of social supports to empower transgender, nonbinary, intersex, and other gender-expansive people to not only survive, but thrive in the Midwest”, you can do so here.
We hope you have found these outfits helpful and always encourage you to shop your closet first. I am sure you have a few pieces that you can incorporate into your ideas and looks. We sadly don’t have any plans to visit Epic Universe in the near future, so we will just live vicariously through your photos if you’d be so kind to tag us on our socials (@ouawardrobe) if you wear any of these looks.
Until then, remember, theme park fashion doesn’t have to be complicated, it just has to make you smile!
