Disney’s Yacht Club might not be on your radar during the holiday season, but this nautically-themed deluxe resort brings plenty of Christmas cheer to your vacation.
Walt Disney World Resort is known for its grand Christmas decorations, trees and gingerbread houses throughout its deluxe resorts. And while Yacht Club did not get a gingerbread house, it did still set up their adorable Christmas Village, and I can assure you that it’s worth making a stop on your visit.
If you’re not staying at Yacht Club on your vacation, getting there can be a hassle. Disney has made major changes to resort hopping since 2020, and if you don’t have a confirmed reservation for a room or dinner, you won’t be able to pull up and park at this resort.
You can book a dining reservation at Ale & Compass or Yachtsman Steakhouse, but both of those can be pricey. Another option would be to book a reservation at a surrounding resort like Beaches & Cream over at Beach Club and just walk on over after you eat! We had a reservation for Cape May over at Beach Club, so we were able to enjoy both resorts that morning.
If you would like to stay at this resort and save a little money, we recommend checking out David’s DVC Rentals. You can browse their confirmed reservations to see if they have any availability for Yacht Club. It’s a great way to stay at a Deluxe Resort without the premium costs.
What to Wear
As we always say, theming your outfit to your destination is not necessary, but it does make it fun. We wanted to create a look that represented Yacht Club, while tying in elements of snow for the Christmas Village. Florida has been on the chilly side lately, so we added a white cable knit sweater to pull in those New England cozy vibes for the resort.
However, if it’s too warm, adding a crisp white button-up would also be perfect for the Yacht Club aesthetic. We also love the Navy Blue Velvet Ears from Pikylon, but we’ve linked an alternative option if you need ears in a hurry. But remember, the quality won’t be the same as a small shop! The same is true with the baseball hat from Magic Castle Design.
What to See
Christmas Tree & Decor
Disney’s Yacht Club is very unique at Christmas. The decor is stunning, including the Christmas tree. My favorite thing about the Christmas decorations at Disney World is how they theme each piece to match the resorts. This resort ties in the nautical theme to the tree and garland in such a beautiful way.
But, the most special offering is the Christmas village. My mom used to collect Department 54 houses and create her own Christmas village under our tree, so this display brings up a lot of nostalgia for me.
The details are absolutely amazing. My family and I spent almost 20 minutes just taking in all of the Easter eggs and sights of this winter wonderland scene.
My kids spotted their Disney favorites like characters from Frozen, Cars, and of course, Santa Claus. The train was a big hit with my son. There are also Disney themed houses like Minnie’s Candy Shop and Mickey’s Gumball Tower.
The non-Disney themed decor is just as cute. The Skyliner is absolute perfection, and no Christmas village is complete without an ice skating rink.
But, my favorite details are the ones that incorporate the resorts. You’ll find Martha’s Vineyard, Beaches and Cream, and the Bayside Marina.
The only thing that’s missing from this resort are snacks and drinks, but the lobby isn’t very big, so I wonder if they don’t set these out like they do for other resorts because of this issue. However, I think this resort still is a must-see on your holiday resort tour!
I’d love to hear if you visit, so let me know in the comments. And I wish you and yours a very merry holiday season!
