When you think of Disney’s Beach Club, you might not think of Christmas spirit and winter wishes. But Beach Club is one of the most sought-after resorts during the holiday season. What is normally an island and beach oasis is transformed into a magical holiday wonderland during Disney’s Christmas season. We’ll show you all the reasons why you should make a stop here on your next holiday visit. And of course, what to wear.
Getting here can be difficult. If you aren’t staying here during your vacation, you will need a dining reservation. Disney will not let you drive or park at the property if you aren’t currently staying at Beach Club or without a confirmed dining reservation. We wanted to eat breakfast at Cape May, so it worked out well for us.
If you are staying at a nearby resort such as Boardwalk, Yacht Club, or Swan & Dolphin, you will be able to access the property by walking or a Friendship Boat. If you are at Epcot, you could take a break and walk over or take a skyliner from Hollywood Studios.
But, the easiest way to view this resort is to stay here on your vacation. David’s Rentals is the best way to go if you’re trying to book a deluxe resort at a cheaper price! Make sure to browse their confirmed reservations to see if anything is available for your dates.
What to Wear
As always, we believe in wearing what makes you happy. Theming your outfit to your vacation is not necessary. But, just in case you are like Lauren and I, and theming your outfits for your activity does make you happy, we’ve got you covered. We’ve planned an outfit that’s perfect for your gingerbread Beach Club visit.
For this look, we wanted to bring in the coastal colors of the Beach Club, while tying in subtle nods of gingerbread and the carousel. The starfish earrings reminded us of gold stars at Christmas, and the bow straw clutch plays nicely into a perfectly wrapped gift we’d want under our tree. I think my favorite detail is the gold carousel earrings.
I also wanted to share what my daughter wore when we visited the Beach Club during our last visit in November. She helped me plan an outfit that was fitting for our Cape May breakfast and our gingerbread tour! This isn’t exactly what she ended up wearing, but I think it’s an adorable look for the occasion. The ears are sadly sold out, so we’ve linked a similar option for you down below!
The Carousel
For the past 24 years, locals and vacationers have flocked to see the life-size spinning gingerbread carousel. That’s right, the carousel is not only beautifully decorated and smells like the North Pole, but with some Imagineering magic, the carousel spins just as if it were in a Mary Poppins movie.
Each year, the carousel gets a new theme. When we were there in 2022, it was themed to different Disney Princesses. This year, it was themed to Mickey’s Christmas Carol. My kids love looking for the hidden Mickeys that the chefs have created. The carousel is truly a work of art, and it’s become a tradition for my family to stop here when we visit Disney during the holiday season.
Treats
Another reason to check out Disney’s Beach Club Resort during the holiday season is because of the treats! Looking at the carousel and smelling all of the gingerbread goodness can cause your tummy to rumble. Have no fear, because from 9:30am to 9:30pm, you can purchase cookies and other delicious baked goods right inside the lobby.
While the carousel is up and running, Disney transforms part of the lobby into a miniature sweet shop. At this pop-up shop, you can find cake pops, brownies, and even Stroll Bread. In 2022, there was even a bar set up for hot chocolate and adult drinks, but we didn’t see that setup on our last visit a few weeks ago.
Decor
Once you fill up your bellies and take in the sights of the gingerbread carousel, I highly encourage you to check out the rest of the holiday decorations throughout the resort. One of my favorite parts about the decorations at Walt Disney World is that they are carefully themed to fit each resort.
The beach is not my favorite place to be, but I still enjoyed seeing the way Cast Members decorated the garland with snowmen made of sand, coral reef, and ship helms.
These small details really help make the holidays truly magical. We hope you can visit this incredible resort on your next Disney holiday vacation!
